Wildlife River Cruise & Lamanai
The ancient city of Lamanai is one of the most popular attractions in Belize. The Mayans occupied the site from 9th century BCE to 17th century CE, making it the longest continually occupied Mayan site in existence. The site is accessible by organized boat trips along the New River from the Tower Hill Bridge on the Northern Highway. The river trip is fun: you’ll see a lot more wildlife, and the progress through the riverine forest to the Lamanai Lagoon is breathtakingly beautiful.
